Intellecta’s path – learn about our success story!

Today, Intellecta is the best foreign language school, due to our desire for continuous development and pushing the boundaries. Since its beginnings, Intellecta has been a School where high standards of learning and teaching are respected, as seen by a great team of employees and over 10,000 satisfied students.

Meet Igor Lukić, our Managing Director; Maja Bradić, our School Manager; and Vedran Radovčić, our Business Manager, who present the story of Intellecta’s success. 

#Maja, our School Manager, gave us an insight into Intellecta’s teaching method and improvement of language courses…

From the very beginning, Intellecta has been dedicated to a communicative approach to language teaching. The progress and loyalty of our students, regardless of whether they are beginners or are upgrading their language knowledge acquired earlier, from semester to semester, proves to us that situational learning, i.e. practicing the language in real-life situations, is crucial for the success of adult students in learning and using foreign language.

We are especially proud of the development of our online courses, which we have been offering since 2012, but have experienced their heyday in the last year and a half. The feedback from our students in online classes is excellent, and they point out that the dynamics and interactivity from the classroom are successfully transferred to the online format.

We constantly develop our course format and the programs by which we teach foreign languages, including the results of modern research in the field of methodology and didactics, and the new version of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF) from 2020 is the basis of our latest innovation. Namely, in 2021, the expert team of our school started the innovative project of creating the first language curriculum in Croatia adapted to the needs of adult students and based on proven learning outcomes from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Along with the new school curriculum, we are currently developing new, more modern materials for learning and teaching adults and printing our modern textbooks. I cannot tell you more about the project at the moment, but that’s why you should regularly follow our Language Portal, as we will inform you about the many innovations that will follow. Also, you should enroll into one of our language courses and experience these new textbooks for yourself. 

#Our Business Manager Vedran revealed to us the path by which Intellecta took the position of a leader…

Intellecta started working in 2012, at a time when there was at least one foreign language school in almost every neighborhood in Zagreb. With only four classrooms and in an area of only 100 m2, Intellecta quickly attracted new students with its innovative range of courses and an ever-increasing range of languages. Consistency in innovation in 2015 ranked us among the leading foreign language schools in Croatia, whose students are not only private individuals but also employees of some of the largest companies in Croatia. According to the official indicators of state institutions, Intellecta has held the position of leader in foreign language schools that teach adults since 2017, and every business year it strengthens and confirms it more and more.

The following example perhaps best shows that we do not intend to stop, yet are constantly preparing for new victories. Namely, the fear that we all felt during the lockdown and the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, our team used it to find motivation for new successes. This is how we turned our classic “online course” into an innovative product that responds to the real needs of our students. Students from Zagreb, but also from all over Croatia, recognized our creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. So apparently a pandemic, but actually a great team of dedicated and innovative experts, created the foundations for a new business takeoff of our school.

Intellecta was created as a response to the obsolescence and sluggishness of the foreign language market in Croatia. Our innovation is manifested in a turnaround in language teaching strategies, a provocation in the selection of teaching methods, and a revolution in the way teaching is designed. Classes at our school are a pleasant language gathering in which each student is an active speaker, and the course is tailored to his real needs.

We exist to help build foreign language skills for everyone who chooses personal and professional growth as their life goal. We also exist to prove by our example that this goal can be achieved through lifelong learning. And most importantly, we exist to contribute to the creation of a society in which language barriers, like all other obstacles in life, are overcome through cooperation, not conflict.
